Teaching Internships
Having received at least 10 hours of introduction in the academic course, a teacher candidate may register as an “interning” teacher. The “interning” teacher then begins the nine month (half-days) period of internship working at Montessori Plus School in Kent, Washington or at other Montessori schools recommended by the director. This valuable experience allows the intern the opportunity to practice the Montessori philosophy under supervision of a certified teacher while actually working with preschool children. Interning centers are responsible for determining with the intern the amount of the stipend for the year of interning service.
Three field visits are required for certification and are provided by the training center for a $400 Field Supervision Fee.
