6-9 MTP Videotape Course Comments

Return to Videotaped Courses: Full Certification Level 2 1/2 to 6 Years

By Carol Codd
West Seattle Montessori School

When I was offered a position to teach a 6-9 classroom, I was excited, yet hesitant. I have a 3-6 certification and was currently teaching that age level. How would I adjust to the rigors of a 6-9 year-old classroom and take a Montessori elementary certification program? The decision seemed to be an easy one: a videotape, distance learning course. A great idea, but in Montessori training circles, not easy to find. In fact, MTP of Washington is the only one I found. It is complete, concise, affordable and flexible!

Since I had already completed my initial certification through MTP of WA in their onsite course, I felt comfortable with the schedule and pace of the videotape course and knew that I could communicate as much as need with the directors.

Every detail is covered and all elements to successfully become certified and to teach the elementary classroom is explained and shown professionally on length-appropriate videotapes. I can watch tapes, prepare presentation sheets, and then put those concepts to work in the classroom. It is truly “hands-on learning and teaching!”

Such courses make it possible for people to become Montessori teachers who might not otherwise be able to do so, due to location, time constraints, and cost. Thanks, MTP of WA, for being a leader in your field!
