Montessori Training has allowed me to grow spiritually, and to meet a goal unlike any other. The week I began my training, my mother was admitted to the hospital. I spoke with her regarding my training. She informed me that she was ecstatic about my career choice. As the month progressed, she was diagnosed with cancer. We discussed my training, and what it entailed. She had me promise not to give up, and to strive to do the very best I could do. One month after I began the video training, she went home with Jesus. Of course, I was upset. However, I remembered our talks. Not only did I want to finish the training for myself, but for her. (Striving to accomplish a task isn't normally a Montessori perspective, but this was an exception.) One goal was to finish the video portion prior to the anniversary of her death. For the last year, I have prayed for guidance. I have felt God's hand guiding me every step of the way.

From the training, I have also grown spiritually. I can relate with Dr. Montessori's beliefs regarding the child. A child is so important to our society. Jesus viewed children as a special creation. Montessori did also. From this training, I have learned to view the child with the same perspective. So many people have the idea that Montessori training is learning how to use the equipment, or how to teach preschool children. I have learned it is much more than that. Montessori training is gaining insight towards the child, how to meet his sensitive periods and the importance of his self worth in the environment. Every day I wonder what our society would be like if Montessori education were the norm!

Accomplishing this task has proven to be the most intrinsicly rewarding experience. I would not want to delete the last year and a half from my life. Montessori training has improved my quality with my own children. Thank you for the opportunity to grow.
