By Jeanne Rogers My Montessori training at the Montessori Teacher Preparation of WA was very educational. The observation skills that I learned from my supervising teacher were very valuable. She reflected a positive, caring, cheerful, smooth and intelligent role model as a teacher. She would take the extra time that was needed for each problem. Instead of correcting an intern student, she would use the Montessori philosophy by demonstrating the correct way. It was very interesting to see all the different types of materials that were made by the intern teachers. That little piece also added so much value to the program. The staff was outstanding and everyone worked so well together as a team. Sharlet McClurkin is an outstanding director and she has dedicated her life and knowledge which has led Montessori Teacher Preparation of Washington to be successful training program. She should be very proud of all the progress that has been made by having the opportunity to teach a variety of teachers. Everyone has their own style of teaching, but I have recognized that to be a successful teacher you need to evaluate yourself as an individual. Working at Montessori Plus School has added value to my education as well as the fact that I had an opportunity to work with a diverse group of children. My training was very valuable to me. I can take it with me in my years to come.
