The Meaning of Montessori For Me

Return to Videotaped Courses: Full Certification Level 2 1/2 to 6 Years

By Marilyn Burden
Breckenridge, MI

After completing the MTP of WA videotape course, I was asked, “What does Montessori training mean to me?” I have found that the training opened my eyes to a wonderful way of guiding the child into a love of learning. The materials were presented in a beautiful and sequential manner. The course was very thorough and detailed. One of the advantages that I found for the videotape course was that I could take accurate notes. If I missed any point, I was able to rewind the tape and view the presentations as often as I needed.

Using the videotapes allowed me to set the time to view them so that I could fit Montessori training into my busy schedule. I was impressed with every aspect of the course as well as the instructors, Don and Sharlet McClurkin. Besides being wonderful people, they are excellent at presenting the Montessori philosophy. The part of this course that I was most impressed with was the math. Mr. McClurkin does an excellent job of explaining and presenting these materials.
